By default, the calculator counts the days between your two dates without counting the final day itself. For example, from 1 March to 5 March is 4 days. Switch on Include end date and that same range becomes 5 days, because the last day is now counted too. For anyone curious about how the numbers are produced, here is what happens beneath the surface. The calculator uses standard date arithmetic that runs entirely in your browser — there is no server, no external library, and no data sent anywhere.
The calculator starts with the day difference between your two selected dates and uses that value for the total-day, week, hour, and minute calculations. The tool treats each date as a precise point in time, measures the distance between those two points, and converts it into days. From that day count it derives everything else — weeks are the day count divided by seven, hours are the day count multiplied by twenty-four, and minutes by one thousand four hundred and forty. Because every figure comes from the same underlying measurement, the total days, weeks, hours, and minutes always agree with one another.
Turning a day count into “3 years, 2 months, and 11 days” is the harder part, because calendar months are not equal in length. The calculator works from the calendar itself rather than dividing the total days evenly.
